THe BASS

Lake Guerrero—world-renowned, record-class trophy bass fishing. The lake is the ultimate bass haven, with many islands and two rivers, acres of flooded timber and picturesque stump coves, where the big fish like to spend their days. Anglers find the lake’s shadows, vegetation and shallow areas to be the perfect habitats and harvesting grounds for North America’s most popular game fish. Lake Guerrero is home to countless black bass of both the small-mouth and large-mouth varieties and they consistently deliver with their signature strong pull on the line. Anglers, both men and women of all experience levels—from novice to professional—can expect to pull in 75 to 100 bass per day on Lake Guerrero; and it’s not unheard of to catch several 10 lb plus per day as well.

HISTORY

In the municipality of Padilla, Tamaulipas , the historical remains of one of the most interesting ghost towns in Mexico remain .

The buildings of the old town are now totally or partially submerged by the water of the Vicente Guerrero Dam.

What happened was that, in 1971 , it was decided to flood the town completely . But not just for the sake of it; this was a planned action and, to some extent, necessary. The Town was evacuated and moved to what is now known as Padilla and the submerged old town is now referred to as Viejo Padilla
